During the ceremony, award presenter Jeff Schneider called Spanjer Homes a successful company made possible by long-term relationships with trades and employees, including Spanjer’s business partner and wife of 37 years, Barb. The presentation also commended Spanjer’s commitment to the building industry, highlighting his status as Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders since 2003, his position as Builder 20 Chairman for the Board of Trustees, and his early membership in one of the nation’s longest-standing Builder 20 Clubs.
Founded in 1978, Spanjer Homes is a small, custom home builder in Northern Colorado. Spanjer Homes, a NAHB Certified Green Professional company, was awarded the Better Business Bureau’s 2010 Torch Award for Business Ethics and was recognized by the City of Fort Collins with the Practical Housing for All© Certification for its Sunstone West homes which were specifically designed and detailed for accessibility and ease of living. The company has recently been nominated for Denver University’s Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance award.
